Moon Boots

Apologies for the lateness of the hour my dears, but it is still day 31 for another 30 minutes. I've been on trains all day after visiting friends. Here I am in my luvverly travelling attire.
Today, I am wearing indigo jeans from Dorothy Perkins and a black t-shirt that says 'Come to the dark side, we have cookies' which was a gift, plus two items of win. The first item is a new purchase from yesterday in H&M and is this marvellous, bright red military jacket. My best friend has one the same, and last night a drunken stranger walked past us in our matching jackets and commented "Oh look, it's half the Libertines." That pretty much made my night. I love intelligent outfit heckles.

The second item of win is the babies pictured below. Silver fake Converse. I'm in love.

I apologise for the strange face I am making in these shots and my lack of effort with hair and make-up. Trains are not good for looking beautiful.

Cherries!

'Ello mooks! Lady C here once again, putting up my second post. Apologies for it being so late; it was a long day at work today, and I had no time to blog in the morning. I like to maximise my sleeping time!

Anyway my outfit is here [it's actually my outfit from when I was out on Wednesday - my real outfit for today was the one you saw in the last post. Damn work uniform!]

The dress I'm wearing is from USC. I bought it in the sale last week, £18 reduced from £45. It was one of those moments where you see something and you know you have to have it; I just couldn't walk away and not buy it. It was a bit too big - they only had medium and x-large left, so I bought a medium and spent two hours on Tuesday night sewing the back to take it in. You can tell I'm not such a good sewer.

You can just about see the necklace I'm wearing in the picture - two lovely plastic cherries. I can't remember the brand of it, even though I saw more of them online not that long ago. It's nice, just way too expensive for what I bought now I look back on it.

To the right is a picture of my earrings. Massive nautical stars that scratch and itch when you wear them for too long. Still, they were matching in with everything else I wore that night.

Shame I took the picture before my hair and make up was done. I had it all nicely curled in a fifties style - hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Sailor Jerry is also a wonderful thing. I had a silly notion that as I was dressed in such an old school manner, that Sailor Jerry is what I should be drinking all night. It was lovely!

Oh! It's day 29 on your Mooky Advent of Fashion.

Hello all my dears! I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, I even forgot about this. I KNOW! The shame, but I did get it done.

Well, on to what I am wearing.

My Mr.Messy hoodie from Next. Got it on sale for £6 and it's size XXXL I think... thus it's extra comfy.
Underneath is a rockband tee from Old Navy which my Aunt brought me back from South Carolina.
I am also wearing Jason Conrad PJ bottoms which are pure lush.
I'm also wearing plain black socks with my lovely black and white vans.
Also my glasses are brand new, from Specsavers. They are actually lovely. Kinda kinky to me, Specsavers had a few kinky looking glasses which was nice.

Also. Do you like my hair? It's a new hair cut and I'm still not sure on it.

I feel like I've got so little on this, but I will give a reason as to why I haven't been online lately. I've been trying to work some more, but I know that if I am on the laptop I will go and sit in a big comfy chair and do nothing all night instead. But, I'll still try keep in touch dears!

Hope you like it!

Day 28.

Today is my one year and four months with my boyfriend XD. Just thought I'd mention.
Things have been annoying lately, my puppy is doing my head in.
Going to london on the 5th of Feb though.
Unfortunately I look awful, yet again in this picture, my hair has a weird parting, my eyes look stupid because the camera has a SHOCKERING flash, and good god, I should never ever smile.
The boy doesn't look much better either, he looks so young here with his curly hair XD.
But... this is me a couple of nights ago, out with his family. I'd take a picture of me tonight, but I can't find my camera.
Also I wanted to show off my scarf.
I love my scarf.
Peace out all! xox.

Eifersüchtig sein/auf jmdn. eifersüchtig sein [day 27]

Hallo, darlings!

Yes, I've been studying German today because I have an exam coming up in about three weeks and I thought I'd start early (for a change). To satiate your curiosity, eifersüchtig sein means "to be jealous" and it's part of a really funny text about an episode of something like the German version of Midsomer Murders. A chap gets killed and people think the motive for murder was jealousy but inspector Whatshisname knows it's not as simple as that.

Hey ho, my outfit today. I'm wearing a black long-sleeved cotton dress I got from a distant cousin (distant as in "a billion times removed"). The pullover is a lovely woolen thing that belonged to my grandfather, it's wonderfully warm and just perfect for cold days like today. I don't remember where I bought my spiderweb tights but I love them. Underneath, I'm wearing two layers of sheer white-ish tights, otherwise I'd freeze to death - "die Leiche, (plural die Leichen)" means "corpse" in German, by the way. That's what inspector Whatshisname finds.

The fingerless gloves used to be ordinary black gloves back in the good old times but then they started to rip at the top and I just turned them into fingerless lovelies. The other day our heating system broke and I wore these gloves when I practised the piano. I felt so ridiculously bohemian, like a starving pianist, living in the attic.... Ehhh.

I'm also wearing a black scarf that was given to me by my grandmother, a pearl necklace that belonged to my great-grandmother and I'm holding a huge badass "Look, I'm so studious!" German dictionary. When I went out, I actually put on my trusty knee-high boots but I think this outfit looks spiffing with high heels so I'm wearing them on the photo. They're my mum's and I don't know where they're from.
Here's a photo of my "Gesicht" after a German study session. I think I look like I really, really need a hug. I put my hair up in a curious messy bun and you can see my geeky glasses that I wear for reading. Today's song is Terror Couple Kill Colonel by Bauhaus because it happened "in his West German hoooooommmme". Yeah.

Ach so, there it is. Have a lovely Wednesday evening!

On the 26th Day of Mooky...

Hello Fellow Mooksters!

Today has been one of those funny sort of days, where nothing quite goes to plan! Hence the lateness of my post this evening. I couldn't get out of bed this morning, and I needed to be dragged out by Dan for my Ten "Oh" Clock lecture on Shakespearean Tragedy.

So, here is today's look.
These photos are taken in Dan's college, because it is prettier than mine! I was kind of going for the 'intellectual Cantabridgian' look, but I ended up looking more like an evacuee. But I'm cool with that. Evacuee is fine by me. My blouse is vintage, and it only has one button, at the top. I have never got around to sewing more buttons on, because I always wear it underneath stuff like that tank top. The tank top is old, from Primark aaaaages ago. My skirt is vintage, from a shop in Brighton called Beyond Retro. If any of you ever visit Brighton, I cannot recommend that shop enough! It is really affordable. My floral tights are an H&M beaut that I haven't worn since the summer when someone told me they made me look like a leper... My shoes are the old favourite brown brogues from Topshop. I may have to invest in a new pair though, because these have been re-soled once before and are starting to wear out for good now, methinks.
Ah, so here is a hideous close-up of my ginger bespectacled mug. Yes, I know it looks like I have no neck in this picture. It was bloody freezing outside today and a coat wasn't part of my proposed 'look'. If I had ever had nuts, they would have frozen off today. May I also draw your attention to the list of names to my left. Yes, Professor Hawking. Yes, THAT one!!!! How exciting! There was another picture of me looking extremely excited about this fact, but Dan thought it might look like I was trying to impersonate Prof Hawking, and that people might get offended.... Hmm... I don't know what to think about that comment.
I hope everyone had a lovely day, or at least a better day than I had!! I have really enjoyed reading all of the other posts, and I think that this is shaping up to be a fantastic project. It excites me muchly. Maybe we will all be internet celebrities, this time next year! xx

25th January: 11 months till Christmas!

Afternoon all. Today's look is pretty similar to the last, I think I'm even wearing the same jeans >.< But at the current time, I am dressing for comfort instead of style, as it is monday. I should really like Mondays, since I finish college at half 2, but nevertheless, it means waking up in the morning and having to get on a bus to a world of education. Mondays also mean I don't see M or Collegeguy, which makes Vic a dull girl. I present to you today (with a particularly "special" look on my face):
-Plaid jimjam shirt, from BHS
-Blue cardigan from Matalan
-Wonder Woman tee shirt from Tophsop
-Ribbon from the habedashery
-Belt from Camden
-Purple skinnies from H&M
-Mass of necklaces from Arizona, my grandmother, and myvintagecharms.co.uk

I couldn't fit the socks in again, but they're pink with cupcakes on and cost me about £1 from Matalan :D I also thought that, with the intrigue my room left you with in my last post, I shall include a picture of my favourite half.

El Viente y Cuatro: SnowBall

Last night was my school's annual big winter dance/ball thingy, so I'm not going to post a picture of me looking all minging in my jimjams from today, but some from last night.

I wore a dark grey ish All Saints dress that my mum gave me for my birthday last summer. I absoloutely love it, and have only worn it twice: for Snowball and the night out before my birthday when I went out for a Chinese. I like the dress because it's quite short (I'm not so much into long skirts...call me immodest.) It's kind of checky if you look at it really close, and it's ruched which is a very All Saints type style. It also has a big zip on the back, which I think is really cool and edgy. The bodice of the dress is really pretty, too.

With my dress I wore some TUK shoes that I got in Hot Topic for $30, then found them on sale for $15 about a month later. D'oh! Anyway, they are lovely, and not too high. I ended up taking them off anyway, because to be honest any heels are difficult to dance in. At the end of the night I couldn't find my shoes where I put them and I was thinking "oh crap, someone's nicked my shoes!" My Spanish teacher was chaperoning the dance and thought my "zapatos con craneos" were funny. Which I thought was funny. By the way my ankles aren't that weird in real life.

Then I curled my hair, which took ages as I kind of had to do it in layers because my hair is naturally poker straight, and it kept falling out. So that was a bit annoying. I topped it up at my friend's house when we got ready, and had to have her mum help me with the back, which was quite funny because when she was curling it she found all the pink underneath and was like "wow!" Then I have a black rose in my hair that my granny got me for Christmas from Accessorize. Recently I've been wearing a slower or a bow in my hair a lot recently, and most of the time it's on my left side which is really weird and subconscious. Oh, and I curled my fringe because I wanted it to look sort of Bettie Page ish. I cut it beforehand and it's not completely even, I kind of fail at cutting hair. Here it is. Ignore the boobage...

As for makeup I did what I usually do, liner, then liquid liner over the top because I really wanted my eyes to look all glam. Then my MAC blush and mascara, and my Chili lipstick! I was thankful my acne wasn't too bad because I didn't have to use coverup. Yay!

I've been waiting for photos to come on Facebook all day, but so far all I've found are some group shots and one of me staggering across my friend's living room floor. I can come back and put some on later when my friend's go up, as I think she got some good shots of me where I don't look drunk haha.

And now for a terrible quality mobile phone photo...

As my granny would say, I shall love you and leave you xx

The number 23 (23/01/2010)

Good afternoon mooks!

Of course I would be the 23rd person to post on the blog making my day the 23rd. That number has always followed me everywhere. It's my birth date, house number, and now my number on the mooky blog.

Anyway, getting to my outfit, my friends are wanting to go out tonight, I'm not sure if I'm going to go but I decided to try on outfits anyway and take pictures of them so my post wouldn't be up too late. This outfit was my favorite one...

I'm wearing... A black above the knee pencil skirt from H&M I got for Christmas this year from my boyfriends lovely sister. I was looking for months trying to find one that fit me the way I wanted, and then she brought me this one that fits perfectly. How does that work? I don't know. She is amazing with clothes, she can make anything look awesome.

I'm also wearing a greenish bluish tank top from a store called Dynamite. I'm not sure if it's only in Canada or not. I love these tank tops, I have about 6. They fit so nicely, only cost about $8, and come in a bunch of colours. I have them in black, white, grey, purple, red, and this green one.

I'm wearing a flowy black and grey stripey cardigan also from Dynamite. I really like the style and it goes with everything. My boyfriend tells me he thinks this style makes people look like ghosts..

You can't tell in the first picture but I am also wearing silver and black shiny tights. They came into my work and I couldn't resist buying a pair. I was kind of pissed off though when it said on the box it came with two and the second was just a plain black pair, but I guess everyone can use a plain black pair.

Finally, I'm wearing a headband you can't see in the first picture that is black with 3 small roses on it. After I dyed my hair bright red it's my favorite hair accessory. As for jewelry I'm wearing a red apple necklace from Swarovski that my ex boyfriend gave me, a small beaded bracelet I made, a bracelet with black beads and little pearly elephants that I made, a silver ring I adore with little swirl type designs on it that my boyfriend gave me for our first Christmas, and my favorite plugs, they are clear glass with a black backing and copper bits in the center.

It's a somewhat boring outfit, but I don't want to send the wrong messages to people if I go out tonight.. Let me know what you think. =]

Day 22 - It's Friday, I'm in Love

Right- first of all my outfit. I'll put what you're here to see first so you can just ignore my musings if you so wish.

The grey hat -I've had it for years. When I first wore it to school people made fun of it and snatched it off my head. Well, it's a fucking fine now that these things are in fashion. *Damn you society!*

I funkied it up with a flower brooch/clip from Topshop.

Scarf was from a scarf stall at a community Christmas Fayre.

My Jimi Hendrix Brooch is made from a penny and I got it at a stall in a folk festival. I had a long chat with the woman about how great the 60's were and how she was glad to see a youngster like me enjoying the music instead of it being forgotten.

Serious face? I think NOT!
Anywho the purpose of this ridiculous picture is to show you my Counting Crows tour t-shirt. It was my mum's because I was too young to go at the time. :( I inherited it when she came out of her "It's the nineties and looking thin and ill is cool" phase and didn't fit into it anymore. I got a cool top and a cuddley mummy in one go! :D

Jeans are from New Look or something. I don't know because my mum buys the majority of my clothes for me and I either say "yay" or "nay" so she can take them back. >.<

Anorak thingy is from a second hand shop. I think it's Eastern European or something. The label is in weird letters.

Grey fingerless gloves were a Christmas present. If you look closely they look like they are covered in white cat hairs, but alas, that is just the wool.

And of course The Silver Docs. I love them like a child - that I stomp around in all day.

Today is Friday and the ritual is to play The Cure on full blast while I get myself ready to go see the boyfriend. Forty minute long bus journeys are soul destroying so I'm taking Silence of the Lambs with me to read on the way. Nothing like brutal murder to alleviate boredom! :D
Yaaay! Weekends make me happy. Have a good one ladies! See you on the other side. xxx

Twenty-one: That's two more than nineteen...

Heather (Calliope) Reporting for duty! First on the agenda! What I am wearing: a loose silk peasant dress with an interesting paint-inspired graphic (Thrifted. It has no tag or label of any kind and is one of my favorites), a purple cotton sweater from the Wal-Mart clearance rack, and white leather peeptoe summer flats from Kohl's. My jewelry pieces are my coyote totem necklace, a beaded Sioux necklace that belonged to my great-grandmother, an adventurine cocktail ring with a lotus motif, a small silver thumb ring from India, and a big oval-shaped turquoise ring on a silver setting (I know my biological mother bought it somewhere out west when she and my dad lived on the road). I don't think my rings are very visible, but I was wearing them. Oh! I am also wearing a silver and turquoise bangle that I bought in Mexico. I never take it off.
My camera wouldn't hold a charge for whatever reason, so I had to opt for Mac Photobooth (as you can see my Macbook Pro perched atop my head). Sorry the photo quality is crap. Spur of the moment and all... I actually have a plethora of photographer friends, but they don't wake up half as I early as I do. I'm lacking in adequate sleep as I stayed out late with a friend at the $1 movies (we saw Avatar. It was pretty). It was also my first experience taking one of the Troy University shuttles. Cool as the movie was, the shuttle ride was the best part. We had the whole shuttle to ourselves and told stories about our homes and our travels... and about the kinds of snakes we have found in our houses... I'm from the outskirts of Birmingham (The 'Ham) Alabama. He is from Thailand. One of the most interesting and beautiful people I have ever met, by far :)
Well, I do believe that is is time for a sandwich! I only had one class today- Music tech at 8:30 am. The rest of them are cancelled due to a music educator's conference that our profs are headed to... But there is an ethnomusicological seminar and guest performance going on later that I will definitely be attending. Well mooks, looks like it's time for the PAC: V-I !

*tries really hard to think of a name for day 20*

Well hello there mookies!

My school is stupid. They sent us home at 12 because of some sleet. WHHYY?? It's not the end of the world! It's a rubbish reason to tear me away from Andy and all my friends.

So basically I just came home, ate some dairylea dunkers and put on whatever I could find. Which happened to be...

A Marilyn Manson tee from about two years ago. I just noticed, the appropriate picture by my head :)
Trackies *gasp of horror* from... SPORTS WORLD! *faints* it's ok though, they are comfortable and look similar to some I saw Emilie Autumn wearing in a picture recently.
Stripey socks from New Look
A plain black cardigan from H&M

I'll look better on a weekend, I promise. I'll even wear clothes that match. I'm just in one of those lazy-but-with-still-enough-energy-to-eat-loads moods.

By the way does anyone else like Aiden? They released their new music video yesterday and I am in love with wiL Francis even more than I was before.

So long
Loves, Lottie xxx

Day 19- Mooky Misery

Good afternoon, darlings! It's me, Lady Misery, dressed in my school unifor (if updated a little). I have this amazing belt my mother gave me once. It sucks you in like billio, an also makes your boobs look massive. I'm also wearing a cross I got for Chrimbo, and a pentacle Electrosexual sent me. Isn't it pretty? I wear it a lot nowadays. I have a thing for anthing vaguely pentacle shaped. I learnt how to draw one properly in Year 6, which I got pretty chuffed about.

'Chuffed'- what a word. We had
loads of lingo like that when I was 12. Along with launching into choruses of 'Eye of the Tiger', using the phrase 'chuffed' was THE coolest. Yeah, we had some pretty weird words 'n' habits. We'd all sing 'He had the whole world in his PANTS!' in assembly, but I digress.

I'm wearing my school blouse and hideous checked kilt we are forced to wear. I wear mine short, because having it anywhere in the v
icinity of my knees makes me want to yell, 'What-ho, let us all play lacrosse and eat sherbet lemon!' (which isn't exactly acceptable behaviour). I also have a pair of silver shoes. They're off camera, but here's a photo of me holding one.

I'm currently trying to find new Goth bands to listen to as well as picking my brain over whether or not Inspector Goole is representing the guilty conscience or some kind of Angel of Premonition. Either way, I shall hum the Twilight Zone theme in class when the verdict is announced.

Love and poisoned kisses,

your Lady of Misery xxx

Day 18... Or Is It?

Dundundun...
I don't know what time it is in other parts of the world, but here the 18th of January is nearing its end.

This was my attire for a little "date" the manhumanwarmbodycomputerfixer and I went on last night. Now, when I say "date", I really mean a short walk to the Macca's down the road, where he graciously got me a McFlurry. Mmm, romance :)

I've had the shirt for years, but stopped wearing it because it's a bit short. It's now one of my favourites, it gets compliments every time I wear it. The shortness is no longer a problem because of...

The skirt! My favourite, I only got it last year, can't believe it took me so long to realise that big hips + waist-high skirt = killer curves.

The only shoes I have to match the skirt are a nice pair of boots and these little flats in the picture. I don't wear them because they're comfortable (they rub) or because of quality (one already has a huge chunk out of the sole...), but because they fit! I take all pairs of shoes in my size as small victories.

You'll have to excuse my lack of makeup and hosiery, it's too damn hot! 36C today, which is by no means the extreme in these parts, but still brings about constant sweat (<3 humidity...) and lack of motivation.

I'm off to spend the rest of the day under a fan :)

(on the edge of) Day 17!

I'm up far too early for what should be a lazy Sunday morning, but I'm awake in the hope that I'll spend the morning studying - then I can relax with the Sunday Times Style magazine and a vanilla-scented bubble bath later. Mmmm.
I'm cheating slightly with this photo, as it was actually taken last week. However, I am wearing that cardigan right now - just with pyjama bottoms, messy hair and no make-up. I'm definitely not looking too blog-worthy right now.
This is the warmest, cosiest cardigan in the world, though. I found it in a big bag of clothes that my mum was cleaning out from her wardrobe - stuff from the 80s. It makes me crave those pink and blue dotty sweets!
My Docs are from Schuh, they had a sale before Christmas so my mum bought me them as my present. I got my tights from TopShop when I went on a History class trip to Belfast - everything is so much cheaper up there than in Dublin, shopping was so good! My dress is from TopShop too, I bought it last summer. It's more of a long vest, but shhh.
I'd better drag myself off the laptop now, before I'm sucked into the procrastination vacuum that is Facebook, so I'll leave you lovelies with my new-found style obsession - http://www.missguided.co.uk
I. want. everything. D:

Enjoy your Sunday!

Ribcages [day 16]

This post is about Friday, instead of Saturday, because on Saturday's I work in a corner shop which is an incredibley dull outfit and also there is not much to say about working in the shop, apart from the millions of chavvy customers and rearranging the sweets aisle multiple times. So today is Friday, and hopefully the end of all the snowy weather we're having, as my mum won't let me drive my car in the ice so I've been missing out on drives to college, screaming my little heart out to Joan Jett and Bullet for my Valentine. I miss this! Today I discovered that the top 5% of people with the highest IQ in China is equal to the whole amount of students in the UK. This is bloody scary, I feel so small and irrelevant. I think when I get out of college I'll move to America...or go somewhere really big, and take over the world.

Today I discovered I am addicted to cereal and that I can clear a bag of grapes in the space of ten minutes...apart from that not much else happened, but that's ok because I'm going to spend an hour and a half or so watching The Strangers with my dad and being a horror film freak. I've also started to organise my messy little grotto that once resembled a bedroom, (it's a state as you can see in the picture), but I keep getting distracted by random things I find; "What's this under the bed?...OOOH SHINEY!"

I think I will stop waffling on now before you all get bored :) Oh before I go I'll say what I'm wearing...
Black ribcage jumper from H&M boys section
Grey lace-patterned leggings from Peacocks
Waist belt that's too big so goes round my hips, from Matalan
and I also wore my red doc martens that I got for £15 from TKMaxx :)

15 is the smallest natural number with seven letters in its spelled name.

Heya, Darahgna (Angharad) from the forum here. So I had to plan my outfit really carefully today because I had to go and view a house. I feel so grown up, going out into the real world, trying to find somewhere to live for my fiancee and I. I wore a nice patterned top that I got for christmas. I think it's from New Look in the Punkyfish area. I wore it with my luis vuitton bag, blue new look skinny flare jeans and my Ugg boots (I'm a conformist :P). I love this dress top thing as it it just really cute and comfy, plus it has a hood that makes me look gangsta yo.. I set off to look at the house with my two housemates, we were late cause two buses went past us. We arrived and met the estate agent and he showed me round two really nice houes. It's up to my parents however on whether they want to buy us a house.
Up onto the other bus back home where I had a quick bite to eat and grab my bag to set into town. I walked with my mate and we seperated as I had to go to the Drs :(. I'm really glad that I wore my awesome girl boxers with the union jack on as I had to have a contraceptive injection in my bum!!! It still aches but it's finnnee (stupid fiancee.. the things I do for him..).
Off to the cookie shop I then did go cause I felt sorry for myself. I got a triple chocolate chip cookie, it's epic! I met up with my friend and we went around some of the shops and into the Disney store (because I was moaning about my bum). We went to a new cafe place and got 2 burgers for £7! it was amazing and soo filling.
Giving up on town we went to go walk home until a bus stopped right besides us and it seemed silly not to get on it (we do have student bus passes).

I'm at home now just chilling out watching the Simpsons and talking to my lovely fiancee, here's a picture of us at our engagement do:

Anyway, love and cwtches to you all!!

Day 14 and I still haven't thought of a witty title.

Firstly I should re-introduce myself, I be Isabella on the forum but my real name is Emily-May. So howdy all.
Today I had work most of the day so when I got home I just jumped into the most comfortable dress to bum around in. I got it from Katies which is a store here in Australia aimed at older women but it had a nice maxi dress that didn't have tiny triangles for boob holders, as you can see I am well endowed and even in this dress my lady lumps try to burst out. I have no idea where I got the crochet shrug from but my necklace is from the markets in my boyfriend's home town and I made the feather clip thing myself :D(Sorry the photo is pretty dodgey but I spend more time behind it than in front of it to be honest.)

My cat must have heard me taking photos because she came and demanded attention so here's a photo of my cat receiving the lovin' she cried for.

Signing off from a post that is probably too early (but I can't help it, I'm in Australia, yo),

Day 13 - Faceless

Hello and welcome to my first post in Alternachick. Unfortunately, my camera is rather broken at the moment. While it still takes pictures, its screen is broken so you can't actually see what you're taking a picture of and being a digital camera it lacks a viewfinder...hence the headless pictures. My sister and I tried numerous times to take a full body shot of me and if it had my head in, the Docs (an essential part of the outfit!) weren't in it and as you can see, if I did get the entire outfit in, my poor head wasn't included.

So, what am I wearing...?
- American Indian top from Topshop. I bought this then wore it on my first day of university. As I'm doing American Studies I found that ridiculously appropriate
- Black denim skirt from Zara
- Patterned tights from Matalan (see picture below for detail)
- Black Doc Martens with colourful stitching and laces. Discovered in Oxfam for around £13 = happy me!

I haven't really done much today, in fact, I haven't really done much in the past few weeks. Me and Snow, well, we don't get along. I'm only living at home for another few days but I've developed a nice little routine. I wake up, read a chapter or two of the book I'm reading (Jane Eyre, still...) with a cup of tea and some toast, I shower, get dressed, I revise, I watch Buffy, I devour the internet until my boyfriend comes round. It's a lovely, simple life. Thanks for reading!

- Emily Jane (loserbuttercup) xx

Hey hey,

Sorry the post is coming so late in the day today, I have college from 9 - 7 on Tuesdays and there's no time for blogging in the morning! We were doing life drawing today, and had a nude model in the class. It was surprisingly... well, not easy, but not as challenging as I thought it would be.
I'd also like to apologise for the blurriness of the picture, I am apparently unable to hold a camera still.
Anyway, today I am wearing:
  • Electric Blue skinny jeans -These are from Finmere market, and were ridiculously cheap because they are children's aged 9 - 10. I love these jeans so, SO much.
  • Pink Cobra Starship t-shirt -This was a present from my sister about a year ago. I love Cobra's first couple of albums (especially Viva La Cobra!) but I haven't actually listened to their newest ones.
  • Pink check Doc Martens -Got these for Christmas 09 from my lovely father. Worn because they match my t-shirt, they're incredibly comfortable and appropriate for trudging about in the snow
  • White leopard print bow head band
I'm wearing a few other bits and pieces that I wear every day -my silver expander bangle that I've had since I was born, a bracelet made by a lady in my dad's RAF squadron when he was in Iraq and a silver & amber ring given to me by my (now ex)boyfriend, whom I still love and care about very much.

My Shadow is a Monday [Day 11]

Hey!

Ruby here, with basically no idea how to work this thing. I am new to the world of blogging, but if all those self important idiots you see blogging when they can barely string a sentence together can do it- then so can I! That's the problem with blogging/Twitter type stuff. It makes you believe that you have something important or interesting to say, even when you don't. Twitter even gives you 'followers'. Why not just give us disciples and be done with it?
That said, here is my post on a blog where I claim to be just soooooo stylish and after posting, I may just update my Twitter....

Today I am wearing:

A royal blue jumper dress that I think is from BHS. There are probably hundreds upon hundreds of middle aged mummys wearing this too, but I don't care, they're clearly women with good taste. Also it's warm and cute and looks good with...

My waist belt I bought in a vintage shop in Affleck's Palace, Manchester- one of my favourite haunts.

My Mum's new boots that I shall return to her tonight. Love you Mummyyy :)

My tights are I think from ASDA are are my favourite and strongest pair of tights. I'll probably cry when they're past their best.

I'm also wearing a black long sleeved top under the dress, I got it in Iceland and it has a funny design on it, but it's also really warm and great for layering.

Here's a close up of the cuff I'm wearing bought from a branch of Bijou Brigitte in Spain. I looooovvvveeeee it.

My hair is doing, as you can see, exactly what it wants. As usual.

I think I'm written quite enough. I can't help feeling there's a little too much.. Guess I'm no better then any other self important blogger on the interwebs, ah well, if you can't beat them, join them!
See you next time
Ruby

P.S. My Shadow is a Monday is a song by a band called Lavender Diamond, who you should go and check out. NOW!

Tag nummer zehn?

Well hello, lovelies <3 I hope you're all well and happy. I've missed being on the forum so much recently, but I've had the boy visiting me in Brighton, and now I'm back oop north at his [and foruming with significant other in the vicinity = just not as fun!]. We're listening to Pearl Jam and writing essays [well, he is; I'm quite obviously on here instead!] with a hefty stack of Jaffa Cakes on hand to help. I'd forgotten how good actual brand-name Jaffa Cakes are in comparison with their Sainsburys own-brand equivalent; they're little circles of chocolateyorangeycakeybiscuity joy, and essays and revision are clearly the ultimate excuse for bingeing on them. I'll have to be cheeky and admit this is an outfit from a couple of weeks ago, because I haven't exactly had any opportunities for taking full-length photos. This is a pretty horrendous picture, but alas it will have to do.

I was wearing:

* A lovely greyish-black t-shirt dress from H&M, which is gathered under the bust and hangs in folds. My housemate calls it my 'doll dress'.
* A teal-coloured sweater from TK Maxx, which is probably the toastiest item of clothing I own, as it's a lovely mix of angora and wool and cashmere. £20 in the sales, score.
* Black woolly tights from H&M.
* My favouritestfavouritest of my four pairs of Dr Martens. They're pale blue and crackled all over, with a lovely delicate flower pattern. I bought them a couple of years ago after I saw them in a shop but they had none in my size, and I spent days scouring the internet for them. I love them so.
* Necklace of big black beads.
* Bracelet of handmade clear glass beads with different decorations on each one, sent to me a few years ago from Germany by my aunt and uncle.
*A pink plastic flower clip in my hair. I've taken to wearing flower clips in my hair these last few months, and have a lovely array of them. This one was from H&M [like just about everything else I own] and I like it because it almost blends in with my hair.

Have a lovely day, Mookies of the world. The snow is knee-deep here and there is more falling. We had a big shock about ten minutes ago when the massive fuckoff four-foot icicle on the boy's window fell off; I'm glad nobody was underneath...

Day Nine :)

  • My jumper is from New Look and I really like it although it's a size to big and makes me look bigger than I am on the picture.

  • Belt is one that came with my sister's shirt from new look.

  • The tshirt I'm wearing underneath is actually a Rolling Stones one with a sparkly golden tongue on it.

  • My jeans are age 13 jeans from M & Co pahaha, but I really loved the bleach blue effect on them and the fitted so I bought them.

  • Shoes are just random dress up high tacky shoes so I looked less short on the picture pahaha.

  • My black Roseary is one from a cute shop in Hasting, I love the cute heart bead it has in the middle.

  • So I didn't really do a great deal or actually go out today. I was meant to be going to Camden in London with my friends but then it got snowy and that wasn't possible. I would have worn nicer clothes had I been going out and therefore my outfit isn't hugely interesting.

Wouldn't have really been able to actually go to Camden today as I spent all my Christmas money on 3 tickets to the Hole concert which my friends haven't really had time to pay me back for. I am so excited about it and feel so happy. I was a little dissappointed that the tickets were in the back tier at first but then I found out that Shepherds Bush Empire has a 2000 people capacity which means I'm really lucky to have got a ticket + one of my online friends who also loves Nirvana and Hole like me called Sarah is going to the same gig and is in the same tier as me.

I'm really excited about the prospect of possibly meeting her on the day. Will have to start thinking what I'm going to wear to the gig as I was going to buy this really cute top that was on forever 21 with Courtney Love on the front but it has disappeared.

So as I was saying I haven't got the most exciting outfit on today it's alright but yeah.

:) I do like this fashion blog thing and must make a seperate blogger account to comment on your outfits because I've loved them all so much so far!!!

Love Sophie (SophiesInsanity) and sorry for rambling x

On the eighth day of fashion...

I'll start off with an apology. Sorry guys. I left my camera cable at university and my webcam is refusing to co-operate today, so instead of sharing today's outfit, I'm sharing an outfit from a few weeks ago. It's surprisingly difficult to find full length pictures of yourself! As it is, I had to crop my two housemates out of this shot. However, here I am, in an outfit I liked.

I am wearing grey skinny jeans from New Look, a green vest top from H&M, a black New Look blazer that I live in, a black studded Lowlife belt, a pearl necklace from Accesorize and a set of black beads that may or may not be from Claire's Accesories.

I spend most of my time in skinny jeans, but I'm still searching for the perfect pair that don't get that horrible knee-sagging effect after a few wears. That makes me sad.

Next time, I will over a genuine 'today' outfit and hopefully wear something more exiting than jeans and a vest-top. I've got all this lovely new LLROK jewellery to play with yet!

    and on the seventh day...

Lady C here, showing you all my lovely outfit ^^

Today, you'll see my in my work uniform [I'm heading there at half 12]
I'm usually a bit more mad with fashion when I go to work, and where I work has probably given me a bit more confidence to wear things a bit differently - rather than my usual jeans, t-shirt and boots. I'd love to wear my underbust corset to work, but I don't think I could handle it.

Most of my outfit is from where I work [Internacionale].

Almost everything has gone into sale this week too, meaning I can't get to wear it anymore *sadface*

My tights are Pretty Polly Control tights - this wasn't deliberate, I was looking for thick tights and these were the thickest I could find. Funnily, they're comfy!

My shoes are from Matalan, they were a Christmas present from Guitar Man and they are literally the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. They're red suede with gold outline. They make me feel so tall! I'll probably only manage a few hours in them before I have to swap to boots again.

I'm wearing three necklaces in the picture; I like wearing loads of Jewellery [I'm a jewellery specialist, it's turned me into a bit of a magpie.] The first is a short, multi-chain necklace with lots of tiny crosses on it. It started out at £13 when it first came into the shop, but I picked it up months later for £4. I'm also wearing a long cross and a long jewelled horn. Little close up view of my necklaces to the right.

My belt is also from work, and isn't the one I wanted to wear today, but I can't find my other studded one.

I love when shops do the whole "rock chick" trend - it makes buying nice things so much easier and cheaper ^^

Hope you all have a lovely day today Mooks, whether you have snow or not, think of me while I clean the entire shop during late night shopping [We have no customers that late D:]

    6th day of Fashion

Well, not exactly fashion for me.
This slob of yuck I'm wearing is due to I was back from a hard day at school, my hands had been practically frozen thee times, it's bloody freezing and my cool clothes were in the wash.
But, it's an okay outfit for around the house.
    Just a combination of a......
plain black Rocha John Rocha shirt from... somewhere.
grey waterfall thing from Ann Harvey I think...
Green and Black arm warmers from amazon.
    PJ Bottoms from somewhere.
You can't see, but I was wearing rainbow toe socks from amazon.

But, I would have worn something awesome, but it's too cold. I'll look better on a week-end I promise. Glitter Eyes.
